It is that time again in NE China, where the abundant harvest of the countryside makes its way to the city. And that means cheap cabbage and onions. If you buy now you can save later! Let’s run some numbers… 1 pot= 250 mao (unit of money) cabbage= 8 mao a jin (unit of measurement). Total cost = 250 + 8*5= 285 mao. To make a longs story short, you save -25 mao! Adam Smith wrote that price does not represent value… here growing economy doesn’t mean rational decisions– say ta ta invisible hand…
